SURPRISE POP FESTIVAL
An unauthorised pop festival started its second day’s session at Rivington today.
The North Country Fayre weekend festival opened at the Bungalow grounds yesterday and surprised the North West Water Authority who own the area.
The organisers had applied for a nine day festival starting this weekend. The Water Authority imposed stringent conditions and they dropped their plans.
The Water Authority is keeping a watch and are allowing the festival to continue.
Hundreds camping in tents attended last night’s opening session.
