Hawkwind and The Pink Fairies at Bath.
6-27/28-70.

They dont appear on the programme , but Hawkwind  lists show the bands played on both Saturday and Sunday. They did a free gig outside the festival as they did at the Isle of Wight .
A couple of folks have confirmed this , including Phil Hooper who states, " Hawkwind were definitely playing outside Bath , not on the bill . I believe along with the Pink Fairies. "

David Maynard also witnessed the Pink Fairies playing :

    Hi,

I have just found this website. It is fascinating as I was there from start to finish!

I can add information about point as to whether Hawkwind and the Pink Fairies were playing playing there.

My mate and I were walking down the lane at the back of the showground site (in the far distance beyond the pylon in the event photo on the main webpage.)... on the right of that lane was a field with some staging ... low loader vehicles as I recall. The front gate to the field had a big sign stating that it was Bath 'Free' Festival. I cannot remember which day it was but I do remember that the Pink Fairies were playing at the time that Maynard Ferguson took the stage in the main event. I remember that Hawkwind, the Pink Fairies and maybe some others were posted on the 'Free' Festival sign.

That is what I recall ... I also recall being cold, wet and very hungry all weekend. I slept in wrapped in my hooded coat with no food or drink except for what I could cadge from those around me. It was a brilliant weekend and the Bath Festival (not the free one) was the best festival line-up I ever experienced.

    Regards
    David Maynard

PS the Bath Festival was free to me as I crawled under the fence to get in ... that is why I have no programme!

For certain Pink Fairies played outside the venue, I saw them. Cannot add to Hawkwind though.
