Chris Atkins remembers

We arrived as Linda Lewis was starting. As far as I can remember, her set
included It's in his Kiss, Days of the Old Schoolyard and Rock a Doodle Doo.
Her band included Max Middleton (Keyboards ex Jeff Beck band) and Jim Cregan
(guitar ex Family).

Does a tape of this set exist ? .
For more Linda Lewis info, see the Bickershaw Festival section of the Archive

Monty Python

Monty Python were represented by the late Graham Chapman (in his military character) plus assorted (non Python cast) Mr Gumbies. Essentially the Chapman appearances happened between sets by the musicians and were designed to keep the crowd entertained during the long waits between acts. According to the reports I have read this was not terribly successful - mostly because one needed to see the expressions on the characters faces and the sheer distance of most of the audience from the stage would have made it really hard to communicate that aspect of the act.

Can I get a witness ?

We have been endeavouring to collect as many tapes of the artists that featured at the 75 bash , so we can effectively review the performances, provide set lists and band line-ups. The intention is to also display as many personal histories of the festival as possible.

If you can contribute in any way, with tapes, reviews from the Music press, photos or personal histories, please Contact email
